After growing up in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Dr. Franklin graduated from the University of Georgia as a Foundation Fellow and then obtained her Medical Degree from Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Franklin was Chief Resident at East Carolina University School of Medicine where she completed her residency training. She joined Obstetrics and Gynecology of Atlanta in 1995 and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
As long time Johns Creek residents, Dr. Franklin and her husband have a daughter and son and a spunky Jack Russel Terrier. She volunteers extensively in her local community and also enjoys cooking, water skiing, reading, and traveling.
Dr. Franklin serves on the Atlanta Women’s Health Group (AWHG) Board of Directors. Although experienced in all aspects of ob/gyn, she has a particular interest in issues unique to teens and perimenopausal women, as well as contraceptive and hormonal problem-solving.
Dr. Franklin performs minimally invasive and traditional surgeries including hysterectomy and myomectomy utilizing the da Vinci robot, as well as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and bladder repair, endometrial ablation, and the Mona Lisa Touch vaginal laser procedure.
I love my job and the opportunity I have to get to know my patients on a personal level and help them through some of the most joyous and most challenging events that life brings their way.
