Registered Nurse (RN) at Forsyth Office                                      

Reports To: Clinical Site Manager
Job Location: Obstetrics & Gynecology of Atlanta (OBGA) – Forsyth Office

Job Functions:

1. Administers nursing care under the supervision of the Clinical Site Manager and team lead.
2. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under the direction of the Clinical Site Manager and team lead.
3. Ensures the privacy, health, comfort and safety of patients.
4. Performs all nursing duties for OB/GYN patients.
5. Performs patient recalls, postpartum and post-op calls and contacts patients regarding abnormal lab results.
6. Performs prescription refills and notifies patients that prescriptions are ready for pick-up at their pharmacy.
7. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
8. Readies equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients.
9. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions and notifies physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.
10. Takes temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient.
11. Performs all other-assigned back-office duties on a daily basis under the direction of the Clinical Site Manager and team lead.
12. Cleans and sterilizes instruments and dates and initials instrument packages for autoclaving.
13. RN assists with inventory of medical supplies and materials and reports those directly to the Clinical Site Manager.
14. Faxes order forms for diagnostic tests to medical facility(ies) to schedule patients for tests

The Registered Nurse (RN) must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must hold a current, unencumbered Georgia RN license. Fetal monitoring and neonatal ACLS a plus. The RN must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the OB/GYN field. The RN position relies on the experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals for herself and her teammates under the leadership and direction of the Clinical Site Manager, team lead and Clinical Director and reports to the Clinical Site Manager. The RN performs a variety of tasks and works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. A minimum of 2 years clinical OB/GYN experience preferred.

Ideally, the RN will have superb customer service skills, empathy, patience and the ability to quickly establish and maintain credibility and rapport with colleagues and patients. Excellent verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail as well as the ability to mentor is a must.
